October 2014

Update & Events

Hello TCD Members,

October is among us and the annual Fall Color Tour at Cycle-moore Campground is this weekend. The leaves are definitely turning and this should be a great time (minus the rain).

Next weekend is the fall picnic led by long time TCDer Dick Hautau. Dick has done a great job getting everything setup for us.  Volunteers are needed to assist with the cooking, setup and tear down.  Please check the forum for more details (link here) and bring a dish to pass!
Vintage Days was good time as always. Jim Reinert was kind enough to host both the Vintage Days Event and DS Lite on his farm (Thank You!).  Jeff Koenig took some great pictures for us.
The turn out at Stockbridge included Ruth's side car with canine attachment. Huge thank you to Dave Hayt for bringing the pop-up and table for the Club.  Leslie had our of our club  apparel on display. Anyone wanting TCD items from the club store can check here.
The Thumb Run was a huge success thanks to Dave DeCook and Mike O'Shanick. Nothing but compliments for the venison chili and stew (even with the rain).  It sounds like a group of five made it up through Greg Crago's insane dirt road (ie mud) route. Check photo's to left for the treacherous roads this group endured.

Below is the fabulous view from Saginaw Bay on Friday.
The October Monthly Saturday Ride is going to be self led from BMWSEM to the fall picnic on October 11th. I'll try to leave ride sheets at the dealership before hand. If anyone wants to step up and lead a ride this is a great opportunity!

The last DS ride is this month and is the Southeast Ohio Dual Sport Ride in Coshocton. Details can be found on the forum here. This is the final ride of a trifecta for Dave Allgood this year. This is planned as a four day ride centered around Coshocton and will include plenty of gravel and dirt roads. This should be the perfect time of year to see our southern neighbor's fall colors.

New & Old business:

By-Laws committee (Dan Cogan): Officers need to approve final draft.

Media Committee (Tom Decker):

Newsletter Editor (soon to be "Media Editor"): This is an excellent position for anyone looking to serve the club and be more active. The monthly update has grown well beyond anything that I imagined.  I can clearly see enough content for newsletters to be published.

Special thanks to Jeff Koenig and Fritz for the photographs this month.

Enjoy the rides, enjoy the club!

Sincerely,

Jeff Hunter
