Dear friends from near and far,

Please join us on Zoom this full moon, Wednesday, October 20, 2021
at 6pm Pacific / 7pm Mountain / 9pm Eastern time
for the Earth Treasure Vase Global Healing Meditation

We are incredibly excited and deeply honored to welcome beloved teacher,
Joanna Macy, to this month’s global healing call!

The call will open with Cynthia and Joanna in conversation about the work of global healing in today’s world and Joanna’s experience with stewarding an Earth Treasure Vase herself. Joanna will stay with us through the guided meditation and prayer ceremony, with the possibility of a Q&A at the end. Please come one and all to meet this wise elder who has been such an influence on this practice for so long! (See more about Joanna below).
About this full moon, our friend and colleague, astrologer David Nicol, has written, “This month’s full moon offers, I believe, a crucial initiatory passage into courage. Humanity is being challenged, for real, to step into the courage it will take to choose a path aligned with love rather than fear. Each of us is being challenged to step into that courage more fully on a personal level. Courage is the price of entrance to spiritual adulthood. It can only be realized through facing into our deepest fears. Can we do this?”

 This month, let’s do this through practicing together – in the good company of Joanna Macy – and strengthen ourselves so we may find the courage to meet the times we have been given to be alive.

Joanna Macy and the ETV Global Healing Project

Eco-philosopher, founder of the Work That Reconnects, and author of World as Lover, World as Self and Active Hope, Joanna Macy, has been a teacher and mentor to Cynthia since the early 1980s. In the 1990s, Joanna’s teaching on Nuclear Guardianship provided a powerful motivation that led to Cynthia’s receiving the practice of the Earth Treasure Vases. Joanna planted an Earth Treasure Vase near the tritium laboratory at the University of California at Berkeley and was the first to point out that we are all “Vessels of the Holy.” (Watch Cynthia’s film interview with Joanna by that title below). About the Earth Treasure Vases Joanna has written,
"This is a remarkable adventure that is underway in our time and it began with one woman's question. The question had ripened within Cynthia Jurs for a decade, since our times together facing nuclear weapons and the challenge they represent to all life on Earth. The response she receives ignites an adventure which, thanks to her courage, moves out across the planet, engaging countless people from all backgrounds. As I took part and watched it unfold, my initial incredulity turned to awe, my inner cynic silenced by tears. Whatever power the Earth Treasure Vases possess to heal our broken world, the real miracle for me is what they awaken and inspire in virtually everyone who accepts the call to fill them with prayer and place them within our larger body, the sacred living body of Earth."
Please join us for this very special opportunity to welcome Joanna Macy into our global community, hear her stories, receive her insights, and honor her for her lifetime of service to this beautiful blue-green planet we call home!

Sound Healing Sessions with Julian Silburn
Many of you are familiar with Julian Silburn from his presence on our monthly full moon calls where he supports our meditation through the sounds of his Didjeridu. Julian has devoted his life to Sound Healing and is known for his work nationally and internationally. He learned his craft directly from Aboriginal people around Australia including in Arnhemland, where the Didjeridu originates and has been played for thousands of years. He was given permission and blessing to play the Didjeridu and to use it for healing on Whadjuk Noongar land where he lives, by senior Elders. Julian brings a deep respect for this rich culture and traditions. He mostly uses the instrument in its traditional way for meditation, sound therapy and for ceremony but he has also performed with contemporary world musicians in various music genres in Australia, Europe, USA and Canada.
In a private Sound Healing Session, you will experience the ancient healing sounds of a variey of instruments including not only the Didjeridu, but also Tibetan bowls, crystal bowls, harp, planetary gong, sitar, Native American drums, bells and more.  Your sound journey will take you into a deep state of relaxation (deeper than sleep) with incredible healing benefits. Each part of the body, including the energy meridians and chakras, resonates at different frequencies. Matching those frequencies using the various instruments and a variety of sounds ranging from low to high vibrations which correspond to these energy centers, helps those vibrations entrain, bringing these frequencies back into tune. This cleanses the electromagnetic field of the body and impels the blood through the nerve endings which can greatly increase rapid recovery from illness and injuries. These sound and vibration sessions effectively tune the body to its optimal resonance, helping you feel deeply rejuvenated and in a heightened state of peace. Sound healing has the following health benefits:
* Promotes energetic harmony and peace on all levels of being
* Cleanses, balances and harmonizes the chakra system
* Improves sleep
* Relieves pain
* Boosts your immune system
* Detoxifies and harmonizes on a cellular level
* Eliminates stress
* Promotes and enhances spiritual awakening and development
Suggested cost:  $100 US$ for a one-hour online session / $140 US$ for 1.5hr session. Online sessions include a recording for further use. Please note: for those who would like a session and may not be able to pay the standard rate, you may pay by heartfelt donation.
Payment is by Paypal to: To schedule a session, contact Julian here: For further info on Julian click here
Dharma Conversation with Cynthia Jurs and Guest Teacher, Shantum Seth

This is the recording of their dharma discussion that took place on September 27th. The conversation touched on practice as pilgrimage, meeting the Buddha as a human being and the trees as a Sangha, the blending of Zen and Vajrayana in America today, and taking refuge in Bodhisattva Gaia.

Full Moon Earth Treasure Vase Global Healing Meditation

Inspired by an ancient Tibetan Buddhist tradition, our monthly Global Healing Meditation lives at the center of this community where once a month on the full moon we invoke the locations of all the Earth Treasure Vases that have been buried around the planet to bring healing and protection to the Earth and imagine our prayers radiating out to activate the global healing mandala that has been created, embracing all of Gaia in our love. Each month we focus our intentions on a particular treasure vase that is in the process of being accomplished.

October 20, November 19 and December 18.
Our Monday Mindfulness Meditations provide the opportunity to enter into a quiet place within, catch our breath, center ourselves, let go of anxiety and reconnect with our true source of being within the context of a supportive group or “sangha”. Cultivating mindful awareness, we can meet these times of collective crisis and opportunity with calm and clarity. During each session, our practice centers simply and effortlessly on the breath as a way to anchor our minds as we return over and over to the present moment. There is a wealth of wisdom in this circle. Teachings and reflections are offered by Cynthia and various Sangha members. We then enjoy two 20-minute periods of silent sitting meditation interspersed with 10 minutes of slow walking meditation. We close with a poem by Cynthia West, then open the circle for sharing. The group meets on the 1st and 3rd Mondays at 5:00 pm MT. Suggested donation $10/ session.
