2015 off to a great start...
Hello All! Let me start by wishing you a Happy New Year. I hope 2015 brings you health, happiness, and prosperity. Lots of exciting things are coming for 2015 from your association. We have great events coming. The first one is of course your favourite, Inside Optics, which is going to be held on April 12th. Early bird registration is now open. Its the best deal in town for your education dollar. Make sure to register early for your chance to win a prize and save. We have a great line up of speakers that will keep things interesting and booths for the trade show are filling fast. Also, this year we have the OOA Professional Learning Ottawa Conference on September 27...

COO Proposed Standards Allow

On Tuesday January 27, 2015 the College of Opticians of Ontario (COO) approved in principal, changes to our Standards Of Practice. These changes effect the dispensing of glasses, contact lenses, low vision aids, and safety glasses. Record keeping and infection control are also addressed*. The draft Standards have now been sent out for stakeholder feedback. You should have received an email from the COO asking for your comments. The COO will also be holding focus groups. The OOA will be seeking member input and also a review by our legal/consulting team. I strongly encourage you to take part...
