Trip to Lake Alexandrina
Come and join us on Friday 14 October for a
day trip to Lake Alexandrina.

Meet at the Port Loop Road carpark at 8.30 am for car-pooling.  
Walk, relax, row a boat and enjoy each other’s company.
A BBQ will be available for you to use if you wish or just bring a packed lunch. Tea, Coffee will be supplied.
Please be aware that Lake Alexandrina is a Wildlife Refuge, there are no dogs allowed! Numbers to Aoraki Migrant Centre by
Friday 7 October.

Geraldine Summer Fete
Thursday 3 November 10.00 am – 4.00pm, at “Stover Farm” Main North Road, Geraldine. Tickets are available at the gate $15.00 on the day. Come and enjoy this wonderful day out in a beautiful setting.Wander around the garden, live music, a Pimms and food available, over 150 stalls and live music. A great opportunity to do some Christmas Shopping. 
Meet at Port Loop Road 9.00 am for car-pooling. Please contact Rosie if you are going. 

Weekly Coffee Mornings for Newcomers
are held in Timaru, Geraldine, Temuka and Waimate. This is a great way to meet new people and to learn about the activities that we offer.

Timaru meets every Wednesday at “Zest” 4A Elizabeth Place, Timaru.
10.00 am to 11.30 am

Geraldine meets every Tuesday at “Mundells Café” Waihi Terrace, Geraldine.
10.00 am to 11.30 am

Temuka meets every Thursday “100% Home Made Café” 57 Vine Street, Temuka. 
10.00 am to 11.30 am

Waimate meets every Tuesday “Café on Queen” 25 Queen Street, Waimate.
10.00 am to 11.30 am


  Global Village
(former South Canterbury International Festival)
Sunday 27 November at Caroline Bay

From this year on the SC International Festivail is now called Global Village and is combined with the Timaru Festival of Roses. The Aoraki Migrant Centre and Timaru Newcomres Network is part of the Global Village, showcasing International Food and Cultures. Timaru Newcomers will be running the German Stall selling Coffee and cake. We are looking for volunteers to make cakes prior to the event and also volunteers to assist on the day. Rosie has a copy of the recipe for the cakes that we sell on the day.  
Please let Rosie know if you are able to bake or assist on the day. 

Knitting and Needlework Group
meets every first Wednesday of the month from 2.00 pm to 4.00 pm - at the Communtiy House, Room 10, 27 Strathallan St, Timaru
(5 October 2016. 2 November 2016, 7 December 2016)

Gypsy Fair
The Extravaganza Gypsy Fair will be held on Saturday  8 and Sunday 9 October 9.00am – 5.00 pm Port Loop Road Caroline

Geraldine Arts and Plants Festival
Thursday 10 November 2016 – Sunday 13 November 2016
The Annual Geraldine Arts and Plants Festival is a three day evenct including a Boulevard Market on Friday and a fantastic Market Day on Saturday.

The Indian Festival of Light will be helt on 12 November 2016. Further details to follow. Tickets will be available from the Aoraki Migrant Centre.

Waimate Strawberry Fare
Saturday 10 December 10.30 am – 4.00 pm .Seddon Square Waimate.
Lots of stalls, entertainment food and strawberries.
