Weekly Briefing
June 12, 2022
Dear <<First Name>>
CUOSC Chatter

Blues fans have been waiting for a big signing – and it came this week in the shape of 6ft 9in keeper Tomas Holy.
The former Czech youth international is reputedly the tallest player in the Football league and joins United after being released by Ipswich.
Holy, 30, is two inches taller than former England striker Peter Crouch, and is keen to get his career back on track after falling out of favour at Portman Road.
United boss Paul Simpson wants a strong spine to his team and Holy is the first block. Simmo has admitted he has ‘situations going on’ with two other areas through that spine that could come to fruition shortly.
It seems likely he is talking to a central defender and a striker, key positions if we want to be challenging at the top end of the table.
The guessing game among fans has already begun – and it’s a game we all love playing
A host of players have been linked with the Blues but, so far, none of them have ended up at Brunton Park.
Among them were a couple of goalkeepers who were supposedly on their way but that proved wide of the mark when United announced they had signed Holy.
It won’t stop us guessing. But with Simpson eager to have a few more players in place before pre-season training commences on June 22 we shouldn’t have long to wait.
United’s new kit will be revealed on Thursday June 23 – the same day next season’s fixture list is released.
The following day season ticket holders will have the first chance to buy in person from the Blues Store before they go on general sale on the Saturday.

Latest from Brunton Park

Tomas Holy arrived this week to fit his considerable size (6 foot, 9 inches or 2.06 metres) into the vacant No.1 goalkeeping role.
Holy will probably be the tallest man ever to play for United. Manager Paul Simpson will be hoping he can also set records for clean sheets if the popular boss is to realise his long-term ambition to lift United out of League 2 into a higher division.
