The Thinking Person's Fairground
Don't forget to enjoy all the fun of the flair, as you admire the curiosity of our minds, the discoveries of our science and the ingenuity of our technology at the FREE displays on show at the Sallis Benney. The Murder Manual

An investigation into the investigation of murder.
Friday 26 February 7.30
Sallis Benney Theatre

Join senior crime scene officers from Sussex police as they deal with a bloody homicide, creating a crime scene and gathering evidence from statements, surveillance and forensics. See the reality of how they deal with witnesses, the family and the community – especially in that first golden hour, where every second counts if you want to break the case.

Presented by crime writer P.D. Viner, you will be led through the murder manual by top police officers. This is not fiction, this is where science is a matter of life and death.
Adam Hibbert is a Detective Superintendent, Head of Surrey and Sussex Major Crime Team, has led over 30 homicide investigations.
Trevor Bowles spent 5 years as a Senior Investigating Officer, leading 16 homicide investigations

Not quite journey's end
More questions to think about on our trip to Pluto: What is the temperature in space? What happens if you pop out without your space suit? What if you leave a window open by mistake? Space is scary. All our endeavours in space have happened in spite of what we have found out, as well as because of what we want to find out. Saturday looks like a fear-, fun- and fact-filled night. So why go to the Sallis Benney theatre on Saturday February 27 at 7.30? Because It’s There!

Cycle on Ice
Whatever the temperature in space, we all know the temperature in February. Sadly this has inhibited too many people from cycling across the Solar System, so ALL the cycle rides are cancelled.  We are sorry about this. However it gives extra oomph to our decision to move to June, when Nick Sayers will be able to offer a more mellow glide along the sea front.

TRASH OR TREASURE
Onca's Trash or Treasure project was a great success: enough trash was discovered in 100 metres of beach to make several grand works of art (Is that a measure of success?, ed). Up above is the truly evil monster of the beach, the microbead. To the left is a sweet octopus, made from just some of the trash. The rest is HERE. Well done everyone.
