Last weekend of Crafty Christmas
Lucky Horsham, Billingshurst and Newhaven!
The future of presents:
no more reindeer
 In the new economic climate post-Brexit, even Santa will have to cut costs. Reindeer are a bit of a luxury. Jets, rockets and drones leave a carbon footprint. What he needs is a totally silent sleigh, with no moving parts, powered by Ion Drive technology.
... ... At a certain point just then, fantasy gave way to fact;
bet you didn't spot it.

Well, Ion Drive technology is real, as of November 21, when the first heavier than air Ion thruster plane flew for 60 metres at MIT with, yes, absolutely no moving parts. A small step for an ion, a great leap forward for ion-kind.
Fact-checking Santa

We notice that Santa's Christmas visits are not mentioned in the Bible. What a pity they missed that bit out. It follows that there were actually four wise men who visited Bethlehem, bearing gifts: gold, frankincense, myrrh and a plastic thingy that broke on Boxing Day. Our Tangram greeting below reflects these revisions.

Precariously balanced
Another activity at crafty Christmas is the wobbly card, which hovers on the edge of a mantle-piece or table. Our own effort reflects the very special Christmas which grown-ups are experiencing this memorable year. Watch it – both sides – HERE.

Some Crafty Christmas highlights
Here are some of the activities which will be delighting the children, amusing the grown-ups and exhausting the explainers this weekend.
Onwards and upwards!
After he's dropped off his presents, Santa needs to get back up the chimney. We're giving him a helping hand, using string, straws, and most importantly, physics.
3D or not 3D?
We'll show you how to turn a flat piece of paper into a mind-bending optical illusion - you should be able to see the present stand out from the paper, even though it's actually folded back. If you can't see it, keep trying; it is there, promise.
Splat the Sprout
Sprouts can be a divisive foodstuff - some people love them, some people hate them. For the latter group we have just the entertainment:  SPLAT THE SPROUT. With the appliance of science you will quickly become a champion sprout splatter.
