Hello March! Is it just me or has January and February passed by in a flash? Easter is just around the corner and soon it will be school holidays!

It has been an exciting time in Burleigh since the New Year. We've had some beautifully sunny days and some non-stop rain but that didn't stop locals from enjoying what the Burleigh electorate has to offer. Whether it be a day at the beach or Sunday brunch with friends and family.

Now onto what’s been happening locally...
Baby Give Back

I dropped by Baby Give Back's warehouse early last month, they recently picked up just under $4000 from the Gambling Community Benefit Fund.

They used the funds to purchase some new computer equipment and a couple of much needed trolleys to help with the receiving & distributing of donations.
Harts Hands Up Grant - OPEN NOW

This month I launched the latest round for the Hart's Hand-Up Grants.

These grants aim to provide a bit of a helping hand to community groups for equipment or expenses, or individuals pursuing sporting or academic ventures. I will be offering five $200 grants to groups or individuals from across the Burleigh electorate.

The first round is open now and closes 3 May 2019 at 5:00pm.

If you would like to apply, please send a submission to my office at burleigh@parliament.qld.gov.au

Nucrush Group opens new plant in Burleigh

Old Burleigh Town New Bus Service petition

Lynne shared her thoughts on how residents of Old Burleigh town would all benefit from a reliable, frequent and direct bus service from Old Burleigh Town to Treetops Shopping Centre. Lynne is a well-known local artist and long-time resident of Old Burleigh Town.

I caught up with Lynne shortly after she fractured her wrist and discovered that she wasn’t able to drive to her doctor’s appointments and that there was no reliable bus service in the area to assist her.

Not only would Old Burleigh Town residents benefit from this new service but it would also assist in alleviating traffic congestion on already crowded roads.

Your support is needed to put pressure on the government to add a much-needed bus service in this area
