Lisa and Beverly feeling the love at our Valentine's Day party
Looking at 2020 so far

The Friendship Center is pretty much always a busy place. Today,  some are receiving haircuts and nail trimmings, while others are off on a field trip to the King Center. All the while, the gardeners and bingo players are hard at work as always. This afternoon, we will host police officers from DeKalb county who are undergoing Crisis Intervention Training and Percy will share his story with them. Tomorrow, we will trek to St. Anne's for a big Valentine's Day Dance. The hustle and bustle  is a great reminder  that we are doing important and necessary work here at the Friendship Center. There's always some way to engage, learn, work, and simply be in community.

While this has been a year of change around here, it seems that the spirit of what we do and why hasn't wavered a bit. We are an inclusive day program and community that promotes the mental, physical, and spiritual well being of adults marginalized by mental health challenges and by poverty. That's our mission and we're sticking to it!

We're looking forward to a year of many activities, lots of togetherness, and a touch of rebuilding. As part of our 2020 goals, we are eager for our friends to come and be a part of what we're doing. We want to see you on program days, plant sales, extra curricular activities, and beyond! Whoever you are,  you are welcome here. You're welcome to get your hands dirty and help out, but what's more, we want to share our stories and learn about yours. We want to build friendships that break down stigmas and find commonality in our shared humanness.

On Tuesdays and Thursdays you'll find us here at 737 Woodland Ave. from 9am-1pm. You're also welcome to join Holy Comforter for church and meals on Wednesdays at 6:30, and Sunday at 10:30. Below you'll find a calendar of upcoming events, and you're invited to all of them! Come join us. Come and be a friend, we're waiting for you!
