Please join us in our celebration!

Rev. Dr. John Hellwege will be installed as Assistant Professor of Theology on Monday, September 21, 10:45 a.m. at the seminary chapel.  We welcome him to our faculty to serve many of the roles that were filled by Dr. Kettner in systematic and historical theology. Thanks be to God for enabling this transition as we strive to provide the best pastoral training possible under our mission to "form servants for Jesus' sake."

There’s still time to get in on this year’s course in Biblical Hebrew with Prof. Kraemer!

September 8, 2015 until the end of May.

The class meets via videoconference on a weekly basis, and works through a textbook and online tutorials for 9 months. At the end of the course, students are ready to enter first year Master of Divinity courses that use the Hebrew scriptures as a primary source.
“Once you have committed to taking the course order the “Learn Biblical Hebrew Pack,” ISBN: 0310513952. It contains all the required materials for the course. You can order the items separately, but ordering the bundle just makes it easier. Do this well in advance of our start date so you are ready to go. שָׁלוֹם ! (Shalom, Peace)” -Prof. Jonathan Kraemer

Contact the Registrar, Jeff Nachtigall, registrar@concordiasem.ab.ca for more details.
Fall Quest Course Begins September 29, 2015
“Religion and Pop Culture”

Dr. Bill Anderson

This four-part Quest series explores the connections between religious faith, especially Christianity, and popular expressions of culture. The instructor is the Rev. Dr. Bill Anderson, professor of Biblical Studies at Concordia University of Edmonton. Dr. Anderson holds a Ph.D. in Old Testament and is rostered as a pastor in LCC. His longstanding interest in pop culture connects well with his role as founder and director of Concordia’s “Canadian Centre for Scholarship and the Christian Faith.”
Please join us on four Tuesday evenings in a row, between September 29 and October 20, from 7-9 p.m.  on the CLS campus or via web-based audio-video link. There is no cost to participate, but please register for the course by email (admin@concordiasem.ab.ca) or phone (780-474-1468, ext. 225).

Upgrades
It has been a busy time getting the library restored after our fire on November 12,2014.  On June 29, 2015 the work on the library fire restoration was signed off on.  Due to the support of people through the Capital Campaign, we painted and re-carpeted 5 offices, the main reception area and also had the chapel repainted.  The Guild bought the students lockers which have been installed.  We are thrilled with the work that has been completed.  Through a grant from LWMLC we are continuing to upgrade our technology in our classrooms and chapel.  We invite you to come and visit us to see what has been accomplished with the support of generous people in our churches.
