Webinar to Learn About the NYSERDA $40M New York Prize Award

Twenty-five funded studies, around the state will win some piece of the total $40MM.. Ten of these studies will win $1 million planning grants. Five of those funded for planning will win more than $5 million each, to build local power that can operate schools, municipal buildings, fire stations, gas stations, police stations, hospitals, pumping stations or supermarkets, independently, in the event of a regional black-out. These “micro-grids” will even make money and create jobs in your community.

Sustainable Westchester will conduct a webinar (Tuesday, March 3rd, at 4PM)  to distribute a list of qualified companies that will prepare your application for a study,  provide a complete team for your town to identify a site and prepare its micro-grid proposal, and offer an orientation on how to win funding for a study, while positioning your community for a planning grant

If you do not think you have the perfect site(s), you are likely wrong. However, even though NYSERDA says applications for “The NY Prize” are due in May, time is short to prepare your proposal (Sustainable Westchester aims to submit its first proposals in March, because evaluation and award is on a rolling basis).

Join us on the webinar—it’s our intent to make the entire application process straight-forward, easy, and ultimately successful. Who should join? Mayors (Supervisors), Municipal Planners, Members or leaders of your Sustainability and/or Zoning Committees, your Chamber of Commerce leadership, even leading developers in your community.
