Yippee!!  It's Spring!

I am so excited to tell you about all the FLOWERS I'll be growing this year at Passion Flower Bouquet Farm!

...but in case Kermit is making you nauseous with all that flipping around (as I am feeling) then scroll down to FARM UPDATE to find out why that cute frog and I are jumping up and down.
What's a buttercup?

Family Ranunculaceae (Latin rānunculus "little frog", from rāna "frog" probably refers to many species being found near water) is a family of over 2,000 known species of flowering plants in 43 genera, distributed worldwide. (wiki)

A favorite Spring cutflower is ANEMONE also known as windflower. I have planted a hundred of these beauties in the High Tunnel at Calloused Palms Farm and expect to see them emerging any day now.

Another favorite Spring cutflower is RANUNCULUS. Delicate, crepe-paper layers of petals are a symbol of CHARM and ATTRACTIVENESS. Looking forward to playing with these amazing long lasting posies very soon.

High Tunnel and New Greenhouse

So... I am literally jumping up and down every time I enter the high tunnel, breathing in the warm, humid air and witnessing the birth of future bouquets at Calloused Palms Farm. I'm thrilled to be collaborating with veggie farmer Brad Crist, growing beautiful flowers abut his vegetables, inside and outside of the tunnel, converging efforts of beauty and sustainability. This season will provide MORE flowers, GREATER diversity and EARLIER blooms than I could ever imagine.

Needless to say, I've spent all of February working soil and planting lots of flowers in the tunnel. Today Poppies, Anemone, Ixia, Honeywort, Lilies and Sweetpea have all erupted from the ground, along with rapturous giggles from my core.
