We close this year with our annual Thanksgiving Celebration in Nicaragua with our students and the those involved with our tutoring program. We give thanks to the wonderful work our Foundation does in Nicaragua, and give Thanks each one of you who invest in these kids and our programs. We hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving, wherever you were.
We are planning a volunteer work opportunity in early 2023. It has been awhile since we've led a group trip and I've heard from many people that they are interested in getting out there and "making a difference" in the world. Let's face it - It's been a rough couple years and it feels good to finally get out and do something meaningful for others. Covid and the economic crisis in Nicaragua are making our efforts even more important.
If you've never been to Nicaragua with me, this your chance to meet our amazing students and learn more about our programs. If you've been before, your friends in Nicaragua can't wait to see you again. We'll be working on remodeling some rural schools with new paint, new doors, new windows and chalkboards. Right before the beginning of the 2023 school year, this will start the year with a brand new classroom for the kids in rural Nicaragua.
Proposed dates are Jan 27th - Feb 5th and space will be limited to 10 volunteers. Please contact me if you are interested and I will also start sending out more detailed information. To start looking at flights, there are only three airlines currently flying to Nicaragua. Avianca (preferred), Copa, and American just started back this month.

We celebrated our 7 students who had high grades for the year with cash bonuses and a standing ovation. This was also a time for the students to play a "Secret Friend" game and to exchange homemade gifts with their secret friend. So touching to hear them compliment each other, even brought some tears of gratitude. Congratulations to Emilse, Magdalena and our two teachers for being such great examples of excellence for these young students.
