Coronavirus Business Interruption Loan Scheme
This scheme will be in place from end April to enable employers to claim 80% of the wages of furloughed employees: https://www.gov.uk/guidance/claim-for-wage-costs-through-the-coronavirus-job-retention-scheme
European Commission Circular Economy Action Plan
The European Commission has adopted a new Circular Economy Action Plan - one of the main blocks of the European Green Deal, Europe’s new agenda for sustainable growth.

Paper Province launch new international competition
What wood you do – to boost the forest bioeconomy?
The competition takes place 16 March-27 April and the five best ideas will be invited to a 48 hour event in Sweden June 3-4. At the event you will have the opportunity to share your idea, refine it with the professionals and ultimately pitch your idea to a jury. You will also receive media attention. The winner of the competition will receive a prize of €25,000 and the option to get business support from the incubator Sting Bioeconomy during one year.
Future Leaders Fellowships
The next round of the Future Leaders Fellowships scheme is open with an extended closing date of Tuesday 30th June 2020. Future Leaders Fellowships could provide an individual with outstanding potential in your business with the funding and support to turn high impact research and innovation focused ideas into reality.

Scale Up Accelerator
This open call for projects gives SMEs the unique opportunity to develop, optimise and scale-up their bioprocesses in partnership with our Scale-Up Team, utilising specialist equipment within our Bioprocessing Scale-Up Centres at Heriot Watt University and the University of Strathclyde.
PhD project with ScotBio
This exciting opportunity will see a PhD student undertake research within the University of Edinburgh's School of Physics and Astronomy on improving the understanding of phycocyanin for use in formulations. The project will include a three month placement with IBioIC member company ScotBio and is part of IBioIC's CTP programme.
