Free public reception on Thursday from 5-7PM
I am honored to share my work at the Mississippi Library Commission in a gallery show that will hang May 2-June 30, 2016. The reception is on May 26, 5-7PM. I'd love to see you there!
I have painted and framed 42 feathers that include 32 different species of birds in Eudora Welty's writing: Most are native to Mississippi, several are extinct, and one is mythological. This represents only a small sliver of all the birds that inhabit her stories, novels, essays and letters. I’ve fallen in love with her writing, and you’ve caught me at the very beginning of my journey with her. Each painting is displayed with the quote from her writing, in addition to the books from the library collection.
All works in the show are for sale and additional work, including notecards and matted-ready-to-frame originals will be for sale at the reception.
