Chains and Choctaw Feathers in the Merry Month of May
View this email in your browser

Hello, May.

Chain chain chain: Thank you to everyone who supported the Craftsmen's Guild Unchain My Art fundraiser by voting for me in the raffle! The whole event raised more than $13,000 for the Guild. Lisa Davis was the winner of the Pepsi Pops tickets and Ada Seltzer won the painted feather I had in the raffle. Thank you!

Choctaw Crafting: I had the pleasure of visiting Tiffanie Maisel's kindergarden class at Ann Smith Elementary on May 15th. We read the Choctaw story When Turtle Grew Feathers by Tim Tingle, learned about patterns, corn silk, and made our own feathers to wear. I'll be doing a similar activity with kids at Creative Craft Camp on June 3rd.

The students were quick to identify and create different types of patterns.
Foam shapes, crayons, markers, paper, feathers, and pipe cleaners.
Wearing our feathers with pride.

On the Horizon:  Saturday, June 27th 9AM-5PM is the Craftsmen's Guild Summer Showcase. Free admission. Mark your calendar. I'll share more details in June.
