From the Desk of Elaine Maisel, FeatherMore Friends is her monthly newsletter to keep in touch and share upcoming events and news.

Happy Spring, Y'all

It's been a while since I sent a newsletter. I've missed you! Since my emails are few and far between, a fun, consistent way to keep up with me is on Instagram, where I share a photo a day, usually of donkey Honcho Poncho and his girlfriend Eleanor Rigby. They'd love to make your acquaintance.

In honor of awesome mothers everywhere, I'm offering free shipping on Etsy until May 5th. Use the code SuperMom at checkout.

April 29: Feather Necklaces at Birdsong and Bluegrass, 3-5PM, Mississippi Museum of Natural Science. Make a necklace to wear and take home. Free activity as part of Birdsong and Bluegrass, which goes until 8PM ( I have to duck out early for a concert with the MS Chorus).

May 6: Guild Spring Showcase, 10AM-6PM, Mississippi Craft Center. Art, Music, Food and the Mississippi Symphony Orchestra's Craft Beer & Bloody Mary Garden. I'm in both organizations. It's a double-header!

May 13: Chalk at the Trace, 10AM-3PM, Mississippi Craft Center. We didn't have a sidewalk chalk festival here in Mississippi so I got one rolling this year.

May 20: MidFest, 3-8PM, Wesley Ave in the Midtown Arts District. Art, performances, live music, food and drinks that are “Made in Midtown.”
URBAN FARMER: In other news, I'm trying straw bale gardening for the first time this year (see the photo below...I repurposed B.B. Bones and turned him into a trellis). So far, it is growing strong. I'm documenting the progress as I go and will share more about it later this summer, when it starts producing, and I make time to blog about it. Thank you so much for your support! You are wonderful! Cheers!
