Hello Braillist,

A quick reminder of two upcoming Braillists meetings - the development of VI education at Reading Braillists this Saturday (22nd August) and Bristol Braille's Canute multi~line Braille ebook reader visits Dublin Braillists on Thursday 10th September.

Join Christine McMillan and the Reading Braillists for a look at how Braille has been incorporated into VI education in the past and where its role will be in the future. The meeting is being held at the Quakers meeting house from 3.30pm (doors at 3pm) until 5.30pm this Saturday (22nd August). Please do let us know if you intend to come along by emailing reading@braillists.org. All details can be found on the event page http://braillists.org/event/reading-braillists-development-of-visual-impairment-education/

We're very pleased to be taking the latest prototype of Bristol Braille's Canute multi-line Braille ebook reader to Dublin where we showed the previous version in January. The machine has developed quite considerably and Bristol Braille's Ed Rogers will join us to tell us how the latest developments are pushing the innovation even further. It will be a fascinating opportunity to see this world changing machine whether you've seen the previous version or not. The meeting will run from 3pm on Thursday 10th September at the NCBI offices in Drumcondra. Please register with our host Stuart Lawler of the NCBI if you would like to attend (stuart.lawler@ncbi.ie). Full details on the event page http://braillists.org/event/dublin-braillists-bristol-braille-canute-mk6-prototype-presentation/
Don't forget you can find all out all our contact details on our website and connect with us on Twitter @Braillists.

I hope all is well with you and that we get to meet at a Braillists' event in the near future.

Best regards,

Steph
