Hello Braillist,

I'm very pleased to confirm our first Braillists meeting in Reading, Berkshire next Saturday, 21st March.

Ed Rogers, who will be presenting Bristol Braille Technology's Canute multi-line Braille ebook reader prototype, has confirmed that he'll also be bringing the prototype of sister project Babel Technology's Midas Braille glove. This will be the first public demonstration of this highly innovative prototype which promises to provide a new solution for people who have problems reading standard Braille due to finger sensitivity.

The meeting will run from 2.30pm to 4.30pm at the Quakers Meeting House, 2 Church Street, RG1 2SB.

The venue is 15 minutes walk from the railway and bus stations and the centre of town but we'll be arranging to meet people in the southern entrance of the railway station at 2pm, taking the bus down London Street and walking a short distance to the venue.

If you would like to join us at this meeting please do let me know if you haven't done so already & I'll send you my mobile number in case there are any problems finding us. Please also let me know of any accessibility or dietary requirements, including if you are bringing a guide dog, or if you are coming by car as there is not much parking near the venue.

If you know of anyone who might be interested in this meeting please do pass on the details & get them to contact me. You can forward them this email by clicking here or they can subscribe to this mailing list by following this link

If you would like to follow us on twitter you can find us @Braillists though I'm still to find my tweeting voice!

I would very much like to hear your thoughts on the Braillists and ideas you might have for future meetings. Do get in touch with your insights.

I do hope that all is well with you and hope to meet you at a Braillists event some day soon!

Best regards,
