Hello Braillist,

We have two new Braillists meetings coming up in Reading and Bristol in June and July, and new event listings on the Braillists website.

At last Monday's Bristol Braillists meeting we had the opportunity of testing the latest Canute multi-line Braille ebook reader prototype from Bristol Braille Technology. The latest prototype features vastly improved page refresh times and an integrated user experience, plus a plethora of under the hood improvements which go to aid greater reliability. We also heard the story of the Canute's development from the machine's engineers and designers. If you would like the opportunity to get your hands on the Canute and find out more about it, we'll be taking it to the Reading Braillists meeting on Saturday 21st June. There is also the opportunity to get involved with the exciting Canute home testing programme to have the chance to test the machine for a longer period in your own home. See the event page for more details.

Also at last Monday's Bristol Braillists meeting we launched a call for contributions to the Braillists groups' constitution. We believe that the formation and development of the groups should be guided by the community they serve so we'd love to have your input on what should be included in the constitution. To be part of the discussion join our forum.

We've added event pages to the website with full details of each meeting so I'll give an outline in the Upcoming Braillists Meetings section below with links to the relevant pages. You can see a listing of all upcoming Braillists meetings as well as those happening at our Bristol and Reading groups on the website. Each event page has links to add them directly to your Google Calendar and iCal.
