Family in Focus

Meet Maria Elisa Blandón.

Maria is one of 12 Nicaraguans who were living in the shack pictured on the left. When there's work, members of the family process coffee in Kokomo. Now, thanks to a generous donor and volunteers from the University of Cincinnati, they have a concrete home to keep them healthy and safe.

The Legacy of Blessed Romero

On Saturday, Archbishop Oscar Romero was beatified, the final step before he can become a saint. During his time as Archbishop, El Salvador was entering into a time of civil war and extreme violence. He served, often alone, as a voice for the voiceless, defending the rights of the poor.
