The Art of Storytelling - Last Tuesday, Lesley Butcher described everything that goes into The Art of Storytelling. A San Jacinto Intructor by day, and a Moth Storytelling Slam Champion by night, Lesley knows how to tell a tale. We learned to ask ourselves what we were created to do, and then to follow that purpose to it's end. We learned not to let our experience become our truth, and that one bad experience shouldn't close our minds. Lesley explained the neuroscience of stories, and how oxytocin, cortisol, and dopamine affect communication. We learned to be a thermostat and not a thermometer - set the tone of a room, don't reflect it. Overall, we learned that "experiences are unique, but emotions are universal.

Make sure you attend our next speaker meeting, so that you don't miss amazing speakers like Lesley Butcher! Become a member of PRSSA Houston, and come with us on our Agency Tour. And, if you aren't already, follow us on our social media pages through the links below!
