Sensing a call to be a church multiplier?
Come to Discovery Days and explore your potential next path in ministry.

For persons interested in exploring church multiplication ministry contact Esther Cottrell at esther@ohchog.org
Have you been wrestling with your next ministry role in the Church?  Is it possible that God calling you to be a church planter, campus pastors or start a missional community?  Is your church dreaming of going multisite or daughtering a church?

Discovery Day is designed to help you explore a potential calling to be a church multiplier and provide an overview of church multiplication.  We will wrestle with questions like what is church multiplication?  Am I called and wired to be a church planter?  The goal of Discovery Day is to help pastors and church leaders gain greater clarity on what it could mean for them or their church to multiply.

Join regional leaders and pastors from Ohio, Michigan and Indiana for a day of discovery on Tuesday, May 23rd.

June 9-10, 2017 at Camp Marengo
If you are a pastor, a board member, or you work with people in another capacity, then you find yourself in conversations and meetings where the stakes are high, the opinions vary, and the emotions run strong.  If you are feeling stuck in these conversations, then there is probably a conversation you are not having, or are not engaging in effective and healthy dialogue.  If you are like most people, you struggle to manage these situations well.
Help is available.  On June 9-10 Ohio Ministries is sponsoring a Crucial Conversations ® workshop with Dr. Chris Cottrell.  Chris is a Certified Trainer, International Mediator and Executive and Team Conflict Coach.

This workshop will provide skills for fostering open dialogue around high-stakes, emotional, or risky topics.  You will learn how to:
  • Discover your motive,
  • Master your story,
  • State your path,
  • Build acceptance with others in stating their path,
  • How to keep conversations safe,
  • Resolve individual and group disagreements before they escalate.
Registration is $250 per person which includes materials and meals. Lodging is available at the camp, or at hotels within reasonable distance.
Any questions, contact Dr. Chris Cottrell 937-621-2162 or chris@crosspointceo.com  www.crosspointceo.com

Don't Forgets?
By Demetrius Booker, Associate State Pastor/Church Health
As we prepare for the “Suffering, Crucifixtion, Death and Resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus, this article will serve as a list of “Best Practices” in the area of Guest Service and Congregational Readiness as both Palm Sunday and Easter approaches.

Congregational Readiness …

Are you kidding me? This is the day that your Church will have its largest attendance per service. It will also be the day that you get more regular attendees and visitors (Guest) to visit you. So let’s talk about being ready!

Exterior
Do as much as you can to De-Clutter and Clean up both the interior and exterior of your Church building. Don’t forget to remove dated signs used to communicate to your members; this would include your restrooms and communication boards around your facility. Oh, don’t forget to remove those spider webs.

Ministries
Guest Service, in the words of Dr. Gary L. McIntosh, churches need to “Enhance their Friendliness”. By focusing their day’s activities on newcomers visiting the church they will show a friendly environment that is attractional to those not familiar with the church culture.

Beside the creation of a “Welcome Center” or Use of Hospitality Table, Dr. McIntosh gives us a friendly way to remember how to enhance our church friendliness by using the acrostic “GREETER”. READ MORE

Checkout the "Memo of Understanding" attachment in the O.M. Website (under Disaster Relief).

Acts 2:42
We are exploring how the early church supported each other and how those various attributes of the early church can help shape our relationships today.

We are also excited to offer a new internship opportunity for high school students 16+. Students will come and camp for 1 week, counsel for 3 weeks, and have a summer staff experience for 2 weeks. During the internship, students will gain counseling skills through workshops, meet with college admissions counselors from some Christian colleges, and upon completion of the summer internship, will receive a letter of recommendation from both the Camp Director and State Pastor!

Camp registration is also now open! This year we opened up registration earlier than normal to allow a discounted early bird price for those who register before March 29! Registration can be completed entirely online HERE

We are praying for you and your students and hope to see you this summer!

~ News West Enon-Fairborn ~

West Enon Church of God and Maiden Lane Celebrate New Beginnings

What happens when a church closes?  Sometimes the properties are appropriately deeded to Ohio Ministries to be sold, and the monies distributed to advance the Kingdom of God throughout the wider Church to aid in church multiplication, church transformation and leadership development. But, as often as possible, the properties are re-purposed to start a new congregation or campus.  And that is what happened at Enon, OH.

The Enon Campus is now known as the West Enon Church of God. The next time you are in the area, they would love to have you stop in and worship with this growing, healthy new congregation!

Celebration
1 Timothy 5:17

Congratulations to Pastor James D. Walls on the celebration of his 49th Pastoral Anniversary at East Second Street Church of God in Xenia, OH

Though the morning service was focused mostly on their regular Sunday AM activities, the afternoon service nearly filled the sanctuary with supporters from several states to show their love and appreciation. Special appreciation to the Cincinnati Area Ministers Fellowship who showed up in full force to show their support!

I am asking all clergy and their spouses to prepare now for the 50th Anniversary of this distinguished man and woman of God which will be next year, March 18, 2018.
