Nominations for elections are now open! If you want to run for an officer position or would like to nominate someone else for a position, please fill out this form here by February 25th at midnight. Emails will be sent out to anyone who was nominated for confirmation after this date. Elections will take place on Friday, March 2nd at 5PM in room 110-120 of CBEC.
As you can see on the form, there will be five different waves in the breakdown of positions. You can find descriptions of all the positions on the form as well. Note that you can only run for one position in each wave. If you choose to run, you make a speech no more than 2 minutes long, explaining to the club why you would be a good fit for the role you are running for. After all speeches have been presented, there will be a short dicsussion where those who attend can weigh in on the candidates. Then voting takes places, and repeat! NOTE: If you want to run for a position but can't attend, you can have someone else read your speech and vouch for you!
Dinner will be provided, but if you need more incentive than that, remember that you are the future of this club. It's important to come and support your friends and teammates by voting for those you believe will continue to make this club great. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask!
It's time for our first NIRCA meet of the season, the Illinois Club Relays! We will be leaving on Friday and staying overnight both Friday and Saturday, coming home on Sunday. Sign ups for this meet close tonight at midnight! You can sign up to race here.
The fee for this weekend will be $40 for non-drivers, $20 for drivers. Sign up for a ride here! Note that the carpool sheet is set up according to what time the drivers can leave on Friday, so make sure to sign up for a car with a time that works for you. If you need to drop, please let Tessa know ASAP.
Race Address: University of Illinois Armory, 505 E Armory Ave, Champaign, IL 61820
Hotel Address: Baymont Inn & Suites, 302 W Anthony Dr, Champaign, Champaign-Urbana, IL 61822-1216
Running Club now has a sheet regarding top times for cross country and indoor/outdoor track! The sheet was made with times/marks from NIRCA XC Nationals 2016/2017, Tiffin and YSU 2018, and NIRCA Track & Field Championships 2016/2017. If you have a time that is faster (or a jump/throw that is further) than what is posted, contact Daisy Okpa. Please provide the time/mark along with the link to the meet ran for verification purposes. Top times will be limited to the top 25 for XC and top 10 for track. Check out the sheet here!
On March 3rd from 1:30-6PM, Morgan would like to get a group of around 10 or so volunteers to work at the Habitat for Humanity Restore West location. The organization raises money for Habitat for Humanty-MidOhio, supplies the community with low-cost home improvement materials, and re-uses building materials to prevent them from entering landfills. Our jobs will include loading/unloading donations, helping customers move supplies, and organizing merchandise. Please consider signing up here, and giving back to your community!
