Hey Running Club!

Great job to everyone who ran at Cedarville yesterday! Unfortunately, there was no team picture this week. Instead, here's a fan favorite of our own Melina Edic taking on the 3k steeple with a smile. (The smile is the April Fools' joke.)
Our next outdoor meet, the moment you've all been waiting for, is NIRCA Nationals! This meet will be Saturday, April 14th-Sunday, April 15th (+ an extra night for those running the half marathon).

There will be a self-defense class for the women of the club this Saturday, April 7th. Cost for the class is free, as Running Club and Second Sole will be subsidizing it for us! There will be brunch and discount sales afterward! Check the Facebook event for the full schedule here, and don't forget to sign up here by April 2nd.
On Sunday, April 8th, Running Club will be going to Hocking Hills! We will be meeting at the Union at 11 AM. Please dress for the weather and bring water, snacks, portable charger, walking shoes/boots and/or anything else you might need. We will be meeting at the parking lot ( 19852 OH-664, Logan, OH 43138) near the start of the Old Man's Cave. If anyone has a selfie stick or a tripod for a group photo, please bring it! Walking to and from Old Man's Cave should take about an hour to complete. The other trails that can be completed are Ash Cave, Cantwell Cliffs, Cedar Falls, Conkle's Hollow Nature Preserve, and Rock House if interested. Sign up for a ride here! Workouts from your Racing Committee:
Long Distance (subject to change)
2-3 x 4 x 200m repeats (start at 50m line, you have 1:00 to get back) with 2:00 recovery between sets
6-12 x 800m tempos with 1:00 recovery
800m + 400m + 2 x 300m + 4 x 200m
2-4 x (2 x 200m + 800m + 2 x 200m)
[Note: You should begin to taper mileage in preparation for Nationals by taking your average mileage during the season and dropping it by 1/3 over the next two weeks. Maintain that mileage after Nationals if you are planning on running Otterbein.]

- Our club meets M/W/F at 5:30 PM at the Ohio Union West Plaza, T/Th at 5:30 PM at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium, and Sundays at 9 AM for long runs. Nothing is mandatory, everything is optional!
