Hello Autism.

It's now only two weeks until the start of our national Autism Dialogue series!  It will take place in a really nice venue in the town centre and are really looking forward to the start of the series, for the twenty-five people who are coming from near and far, more than half of whom are autistic.

We have a small request in the form of our fundraising appeal.  The room hire for the six dialogues and the conference is a total of £1,000 and we are relying on public donations as we are entirely unfunded and volunteer-led. The campaign has already got off to a great start with over 20% raised already!  If you could help too by donating online here, it would be fantastic. Every penny counts!  And as a way of saying thank you to everyone who donates, we are giving priority free booking to our National Dialogue Conference on December 14th!  I hope you agree this is a fantastic way to support autistic people overall and get fully involved in what looks set to be a really exciting journey of discovery!

Regather Cinema
Last week we hosted a fabulous public evening at our local community centre, Regather, with a film showing and discussion. A full room was engaged throughout the film and the stimulating and thought-provoking conversation.  Themes revolved around the dynamics of autism, especially between humour and the rhetoric of tragedy.  Thank you to everyone who attended, especially guest speakers Hannah Ebben (SHU) and Dr. Richard Smith (SAANS).  We hope to have some more similar events soon as this format seems to be very well received and Regather is a great venue, with lots of great initiatives and its own bar (pictured).
