Lectio Divino starting Monday, October 5th Lectio Divina is a contemplative method of reading the Bible with ‘the ear of the heart’ so as to be transformed, more than simply informed, by the text. The group leader reads a passage of Scripture aloud three times. Each time participants are invited to consider a different aspect of the verse. After each reading, participants share their own understanding of what God is calling them toward through the words of the text. Each week, the group leader will send out an email reminder with the Zoom link and the materials for the event, including the instructions and the specific Scripture we will be engaging. No additional materials are necessary. You may wish to have a journal or other note-taking tool accessible if you choose to go deeper individually after the group meeting ends. Sign up here.

It's election time. Are you ready to vote? The deadline for online and mail-in registration is October 26. Register and get more info here. Our ballots will be sent out October 16th, which is when early voting begins! Then, help get out the vote this November by writing letters through Vote Forward, reminding people to vote. In multiple randomized trials, voters who received a letter were significantly more likely to vote. It's easy and fast! You'll recieve a template to print, complete, fold, sign, and mail. Simple! Click here to sign up.

Donate to the United Methodist Committee On Relief (UMCOR) to help those displaced by wildfires. UMCOR responds to natural or civil disasters of such magnitude that they overwhelm a community’s ability to recover on its own. When disaster strikes, it is local churches that provide the first response to their communities. This basic understanding—that disaster response is local—forms the foundation for UMCOR’s US disaster training and response. When responding to a disaster in the United States, UMCOR provides training, financial assistance, expertise, community collaboration to churches and partners making them more resilient to disasters.  There are two ways to donate:

Update from the Finance Team

Now that the smoke has cleared, most of us are breathing more easily. Not so the finance team, at least not all the time!

In August, giving for church operations declined while giving for our other missions (sack lunches, Back to School supplies, Crossroads Feeding, etc) remained strong. We also used the last of our Payroll Protection Loan (received as part of the CARES COVID relief act) which funded staff salaries through the summer. This means we will be relying even more on your support for the remainder of 2020.

Our dedicated staff busily prepared for Sundays wonderful worship service and our first ACT Sunday on the 27th, this coming Sunday. For more info go here (  And, if you haven't joined a community group, now's the time! We’re proving the church is not merely a building.

Your support makes all this happen, helping us fulfill our mission now and position ourselves for an exciting future. Thanks again for your generosity!

The updated directory has been emailed out to everyone listed in the current directory. Please check your junk mail or spam inbox if you didn't find it in your inbox! IF YOU WANT TEXT REMINDERS ON SUNDAYS, PLEASE INSURE THAT YOUR PHONE IS LISTED CORRECTLY.

  • Please pray for the protestors.
  • Please pray for our country to be less divided
