Happy Tuesday!

Yay, regular monthly newsletter

Hey again! It's been a while since we did a regular newsletter so it's about time we start. We're still growing this list so please recommend it to your friends, if you like it. If you don't please drop us a line at info@rug.si and tell us how we can improve.
As said, this is the October newsletter. We had a very busy month and can't wait to share it all with you.
Oto did a great job gathering speakers for our next meetup which is gonna be on 30th of October. Again at Poligon and again at 18.00. This time you'll hear 3 talks:
  • Jure Žove will talk about jumping into Apple Swift from Ruby/Objective-C
  • Mitja Mavsar will make comments about your website - if you want to know what's wrong/right with your website, please submit your URL
  • Miha Mencin will tell you how much you missed by not attending ArrrrCamp conference in Belgium
Rails Girls are coming to Celje. As always, mentors are needed so if you would like to help, do write them an email. Also, if you have any female friends interested in learning new things or just want to know what we do, do let them know that they can apply.
Rails Rumble is still open for your application. But you have to hurry, they close registrations tomorrow.

RR, is "a distributed programming competition where hundreds of teams of 1-4 people, from all over the world, have 48 hours to build an innovative web application, with Ruby on Rails or another Rack-based Ruby web framework."

Our friends at vienna.rb are organising a RR hackathon event, so if you're interested, do check it out.

October picks

Oto Brlgez - @otobrglez

Miha Filej - @mfilej

Miha Rekar - @mrfoto

Žiga Vidic - @zigomir

We're still assembling a proper organisational team and if you would like to help out in any way, please do send us an email. We need help with frontend works on our website, PR (public relations, not pull requests, although those wouldn't hurt either), sponsorships, people who know how to get other people to talk/present/sponsor us,… Basically, if you want to help, we'll find something for you to help us out with.
Help us out
That's all from us this time, hopefully we'll see you all on 30th of October in Poligon. In the mean time, you can leave a group review so that more people will join. You can also invite your friends to join, and tell them to subscribe to this.

Thanks and cya soon!
