Keller Williams Volunteers Beautify
Local commercial and residential real estate agents and contractors affiliated with Keller Williams Realty Centre of Howard County turned out in full force recently to beautify Grassroots Crisis Intervention Center and host a picnic for the families in the shelter program.
The Culture Committee of Keller Williams, a community service oriented group, focused on the local crisis intervention center and homeless shelter as their RED Day project. RED (Renew, Energize, Donate) Day is an annual Keller Williams service initiative held country-wide to improve communities where the realty company does business.
Local Keller Williams volunteers weeded and planted the Grassroots Children’s Garden, painted rooms and hallways, designed and painted a mural for the children’s activity room, organized and provided supplies for the storage room and prepared and served a picnic supper for individuals and families staying in the Grassroots shelter program.
“Working with the Keller Williams volunteers was a fantastic experience,” said Grassroots staff member Anna Katz. “They did a year’s worth of volunteer projects in one day.”

Thanks to BB&T Atlantic Risk Management
Volunteers from BB&T Atlantic Risk Management painted the ktichen and family wing of Grassroots’ family and women’s shelter recently. The volunteers also prepared a dinner for the Grassroots residents. In addition, they donated 50 new dining room chairs, a new barbecue with accessories for the courtyard and two new picnic tables with umbrellas.
This is the second time BB&T Atlantic Risk Management has selected Grassroots as the beneficiary of its Lighthouse Project, an annual employee activity to improve the communities served by the company.
