The Executive has decided to cancel folk dancing until further notice due to COVID-19. We will let you know when we will resume dancing.
Stay home and stay healthy.
See below for details on an upcoming Virtual Folk Dance Party.

Scroll down and read about it!

The Lyrids Folk Dance Festival 2020 is cancelled. However, we are only pressing the pause button. Same teachers, same band will be here April 23-25, 2021. Registration begins in January 2021.

Do you like the Lyrids Festival Shop? Jane will not run the shop in 2021. Are you interested in taking over the reins? Contact Jane. Thank you Jane for organizing a fabulous festival shop for our first 6 years of festivals! Although Jane's shop was amazing, there are many ways to run a shop, and you can run it however you like. Perhaps there are a few people who want to team up to organize it?

Make sure to scan this newsletter for activities and events you might be interested in, and send in any announcements you would like to share with the other dancers to

Please direct suggestions and feedback to the contact form on the website, or directly to the club email.

From California's Peninsula Folk Dance Team is an awesome idea:
As almost all classes and parties have been cancelled, we’re going to host a VIRTUAL FOLK DANCE PARTY!  We’ll send out instructions on how to connect and you can dance with your friends!

When – Saturday, March 28, 3pm to 6pm, Pacific Time

Where – Wherever you are; no need to get together to dance, we’ll dance in our own homes, apartments, vans, yurts, cabins,….

What’s that again? – We’ll be setting up a video and audio bridge for everybody to web or call into. A few of us will be playing music so we can all dance without being together.

What else? - With luck, you'll be able to show yourself with your webcam and we'll see and hear each other! Hey, wear a costume!

Over the next week and a half, the Peninsula Folk Dance Team will be testing options for this; we’ll make sure we have multiple MCs in place in case of internet failure, have at least several hundred logins, and play your requests!

Email your dance requests to We’re also working on a way for you to request during the event.

More to come, we’re going to figure this out. Another posting will be made with how you will connect via web and/or phone.

Looking forward to dancing with all of you. Flyer here.
Adony and Becky, on behalf of the entire Peninsula Folk Dance Team!

The Squalicum Yacht club is the smaller of the two Yacht Clubs side by side on S. Harbor Loop Drive. (South Harbor Loop Drive is connected in a circle with North Harbor Loop Drive.)

How to get there:

From the North, go South on I-5, take the Meridian Street Exit and turn right. From Meridian, take the 3rd right (2nd traffic light) onto Squalicum Way. The very first possible right turn which is identified with a street sign "N. Harbor Loop Drive", take that right and at the end of that very short road you are in a parking lot. If you would turn left you will see the Squalicum Yacht Club in front of you.

From the South, you can take Holly Street through town to "F" Street. Turn left onto F street toward the water and across the train tracks to Roeder. Turn right onto Roeder Ave Continue on Roeder to Coho Way (City Mac Store) Turn Left onto Coho Way. The first possible right is "N. Harbor Loop Drive".
