Aloha,
We hope this finds you well. We want to alert you to a special opportunity. On Oct. 11, 2016, from 13:30- 15:00 the Tokyo American Center will host a program with Pacific Forum CSIS Executive Director Brad Glosserman and four Young Leaders -- Akira Igata (JPN), Miha Hribernik (SVN), Erik French (USA), and Lauren Dickey (USA) – to discuss “Next Generation Views of the US-Japan Alliance: Looking over the Horizon.” This 90-minute roundtable will explore how young people from around the world see the US-Japan alliance, its possibilities, and its significance as part of a regional tour hosted by Pacific Forum CSIS with support from the US Embassy Tokyo. We are especially eager to get young people to attend this program, and to participate and air their own thoughts, comments and questions.

Our hope is that through hearing the enthusiasm for the alliance from their peers from other countries, Japanese youths will be inspired to think more about Japanese foreign policy generally, and about the US-Japan alliance in particular. The Pacific Forum Young Leaders Program offers a platform for young people to voice their ideas and engage with a global network of experts. As we promote interest in foreign and security policy, this meeting also exposes young Japanese to the Young Leaders Program as a way to become more involved.
Please share this opportunity with anyone you think would be interested.
Thank you
