Octavio Pelayo Sanchez, owner of Bahia Banderas Adventure Tours, was born and raised in Punta de Mita, just a short distance from Sayulita. Through a love of the beach, the familiarity of the area and the Marieta islands, and having a desire to share the experience of everything the area has to offer with others, he started his business, Bahia Banderas Adventure Tours, two years ago.

Jose Sanjuan, born and raised in Puerto Vallarta, just an hour from Sayulita, is a world renowned tattoo artist. During Sayulita’s high season, he works Thursday through Saturday at Papillon Family Studios, and during Sayulita’s low season, he is in Europe, learning new tattoo skills and techniques to better his work here. Jose tells El Sayulero how he got his start in tattooing, what he loves about it, and so much more.

Have you ever gone to an appie party and found that yours was the first to be devoured? I promise you that this is likely the case for Almond Stuffed Dates Wrapped in Bacon. These are almost always on my party planning list and are perfect for your next Sayulita party or potluck! Delicious and easy to make with only three ingredients!

The seasons are changing in Sayulita – summer is ending and high season will soon be upon us. As we move towards fall and the holiday season, we often think of loved ones that we need to buy or make gifts for. We look forward to bringing joy to little ones as they open their gifts. We celebrate with good food and good friends. Sometimes we reach out to the community and donate to others – with toys, clothes, and gifts of food. We are so generous during these times. But this “gift of giving” doesn’t have to be limited to just a couple of months – we can give year round in Sayulita.

My (new) name is Sina and I'm one of those Pitbulls who got to be in the WRONG hands. I was living with a drug addict who treated me badly, cut off my ears himself, and kept me in bad conditions. A sweet lady felt pity for me and took me away from this man. Despite my ordeal, I'm a loving dog. I get along fine with other dogs and I'm really thankful that I got away from there. I do need a new home now. I look very much forward to meeting you, in case you are looking for a dog like me!

As the high season begins, so do our preparations for safety in the community. The Civil Protection y Bomberos Training Symposium for 2016 will be held on December 6, 7, and 8 in Nuevo Vallarta, Nayarit. This year’s Symposium will be again supported by Firefighters Crossing Borders Instructors who will provide local firefighters training on Auto Extrication, Rope Rescue, Fire Ground Survival, and Surf Rescue.
