Hello darling <<First Name>>!
This is our last newsletter for 2016, your Committee will be taking a break over the holidays, so the next newsletter will land in your inbox at the end of January 2017.
LOTS of info in a small newsletter, get some mulled wine!

November - The Foodie Meeting

Well, that was fun! Rocking Raw Chef Barbara Fernandez visited us to talk about her journey into veganism and raw food cookery, and showed us how to make a raw spinach dip and raw chocolate pudding. Read all about it in our blog.
Thank you for helping at our Annual Craft Fair!

Thank you to all Belles that came to our Fair to support fellow WI makers and enjoy some fine baking. A super-duper THANK YOU to the bakers and cake stall fairies that helped on the day: Liz C., Veronika, Alison, Jane, Emma, Sarah R, Melissa, Laura P2, Jo, Shani, Rachael, Remke, Margaret, Mama Collins, Alice, Yvonne, and Joanna.

And of course, none of this would've been possible without the stellar work done by Laura Pryke, Victoria, and Kara. A quick look after the fair point to us having surpassed the profits from last year - we'll keep you posted about the final numbers.
Thank you all for your time and energy!

Coming up!

December: Instead of a formal meeting, for December we'll have a cozy, christmassy get together where everyone contributes a little something.

In an attempt to avoid 20 quiches, blocks of cheese or even NO CAKE (this has happened at a WI event, believe it or not!), we are going to do an alphabet style bring and share:
  • If your last name STARTS with the letters A to G please bring along a savoury item. Think finger food, like sausage rolls, crisps...
  • If your last name starts with H to M,  bring along a sweet treat (mince pies, chocolates, mini-anything!).
  • And if your name starts with N to Z please bring along a drink to share (non-alcoholic, maybe a nice squash or hot chocolate. Tea and coffee will be provided as usual).
We will have board games and you're welcome (encouraged!) to bring any craft projects you're working on, cards to fill in and address, or gifts to wrap. It's really important that you let us know you're coming, so please email back to say "I'm coming, bringing X and Y".

January: Our very own Victoria H., of Butterfly Crafts, will be leading our Do and Dabble meeting. So that she can prepare all the crafty bits and pieces, please let us know if you are attending the meeting. We will also have an Unwanted Gifts Raffle, so if you get anything that you don't love, bring it along!
It's time to renew your annual membership to the WI - we hope you will choose to remain a member of Blue Belles!

A separate email will be sent with payment details and deadlines, but as a starting point please be aware that the renewal window will be January 1 - 31 and the full annual membership fee has been set by NFWI at £39.00 (£19 for dual members).

We have a growing waiting list so don't feel bad if you're unable to renew, any open spaces will be gratefully received by someone on that list.
The Cambridge Federation has a new webpage and all events have moved there. Download a PDF with the most recent offerings here
It's our turn to send a delegate to the AGM! President Lucy will be attending and voting on the resolutions on behalf of Blue Belles, Lode, and Mill Rd. at the meeting taking place in June 2017, in Liverpool.

Observer tickets are available, send us an email if you're keen on getting one (£20 each, plus travel and all that).
